..Cats in Japan & Neko cafe..

Photo taken with my iPhone in a pet store

How can you not die of cuteness with that

It was very hard not to bring the kitten home!
I'm normally not much of a cat fan (I prefer dogs)...
But in Japan people are so crazy about them that I started to find them "cute" too!

I wonder why but Japanese cats are smaller than cats in Europe...
It has probably something to do with the food: less meat and more rice-based diet

My heart mealts!!

I also like how cats here are represented in comic books/manga
For example,  a random book cover found in a convenient store:

I now have a full collection of this style of plushies at home, won at UFO catchers (oh boy, I definitly need to write a blog entry about UFO catchers)

Anyway, cats can be a very lucrative business!
I saw this ad in the subway.

猫cafe ぐるぐる堂
〒542-0086
大阪市中央区西心斎橋 2-4-6
花月第1ビル4F

Basically, you buy 1 drink for 1 050 (around 13 USD) which grants you 1 hour of stay with the cats

Other neko cafe have more elaborated plans, usually typical services include:
  • Playing with the cats with cat treats
  • Taking picture of the cats with cute hat or cat clothes
  • Reading manga or magazines surrounded by cat

Some of my friends go every week-end to such Neko cafes
